2. Surgery

3. Post–evaluation and Next Appointment
The days following your surgery are recovery days. During this painless period, you will be recommended a bland diet and rest. We will make an appointment to see you again 4 to 6 months later, depending on your treatment.

Restorative Phase

How long am I going to stay In Tijuana?
The surgery itself takes around 2.5 hours per arch depending on the type of implant, whether it is All on 4, 3 on 6, Zirconia or artistic implants. However, the total length of your stay in Tijuana will consist of two 7 to 14 day trips (according to your specific conditions) separated by a restorative period of 4 to 6 months.
Things you should and should not do before and after your surgery
Three weeks before your surgery, stop smoking and drinking alcohol. Ask your doctor if you should suspend any medication and let us know what medicines you are taking. Anti-inflammatories, anti-coagulants, and vitamin E supplements can cause excessive bleeding during surgery, so you must discontinue them two weeks before surgery. Eat plenty of fresh pineapple or pineapple enzyme and a multivitamin tablet (even if it contains vitamin E.)
Diet recommendations
Both before and after surgery, a soft diet is recommended. Get protein supplements like Ensure or Boost as well as broths, soups, gelatin, yogurt, eggs, fish, mashed potatoes, cream of oatmeal, cottage cheese, ice cream, juices, and well-cooked pasta. In the 48 hours following the surgery, avoid physical activity and hot meals or liquids, especially while numb.
Prescriptions and medication
After a dental implant surgery, there is normally pink or blood-tinged saliva for two or three days and it does not indicate any problem, even minimal bleeding is expected. The best way to stop it is by placing a damp piece of gauze and softly bite for 30 minutes while resting and keeping your head elevated. You can minimize swelling by applying immediate ice packs on the outside area of the face for periods of 20 minutes on and 20 minutes off.
